Brazil. A great place to invest!

Brazil is the fifth most populous country in the world and the tenth economy of the planet, according to The Economist. And known around the world for its soccer, carnival, cheerful people, beautiful people and vibrant music.

Now, the country is also considered a safe nest for venture capitalists eggs. This is a very important achievement: the country has recently reached an investment grade rate from Standard & Poor’s and Fitch. This will open the countries borders for trillions of dollars allocated in investment funds which are limited to investment grade countries only.

With a booming economy and well planned investments in infrastructure, Brazil also took the international commitment as the host of a FIFA World Cup, in 2014, the most important soccer event on the planet. Thus, during the next 5 years, the country will improve and adapt its overall infrastructure for a huge event like that, benefiting the economy as a whole and generating positive changes to be noticed for years to come.

Santa Catarina. A great place to live!

The state has a unique coastline, with some of the most spectacular beaches of Brazil; mountains and fields that, in the wintertime, frequently wake up covered by snow; thermal springs with pleasantly hot water and a widely diversified cookery that reflects the enormous cultural variety of its population.

But the people of Santa Catarina are making the difference. It’s the result of a cultural mixing of immigrants who left their country of origin in Europe. There have been 3 major flows of immigrants to the region, in the 16th, 18th and second half of the 19th century. Most prominent culture influences are Portuguese, German, Italian, Polish, Austrian and Arabic, to name just a few.

All that makes Santa Catarina one of the most visited states in Brazil, by nationals and foreigners, year round. With multiple talents, Santa Catarina State is a major export leader in Brazil and has very diversified industries, ranging from shoes to pipes. Its ports structure is possibly the most important in the country, with 5 modern hubs, one of them being redeveloped and another due in 2009 – to serve the international commercial demands.

In 2007, Santa Catarina won the “Best Tourism Destination” award from the most recognized tourism and leisure magazine in Brazil, “Viagem e Turismo”, voted directly by its readers. This was a successful result of an extremely well coordinated effort between public and private initiatives.
